There is an essential perfection in the natural designs of the foods we eat. Milk from grass fed cows is the epitome of what is wholesome and good about foods that come to us without a single alteration to its natural design. Complete with all of its original flavor and nutrition intact, milk, cheese and butter simply doesn’t get any better for you than it does when it comes from the grass fed cows of Grass Point Farms.

The Science Of Grass Fed Dairy

Scientific studies suggest that grass fed dairy products and meats have a more beneficial ratio of “good fats” to “bad fats” when compared to dairy and meat products that come from animals on high grain diets. Omega 3 fatty acids are considered the “good fats” while Omega 6 fatty acids are thought of as the “bad fats”. Studies also recommend maintaining that a balanced ratio of Omega 6 fats to Omega 3 fats is a very important component in a healthy diet.

Another key nutritional difference between grain based and grass based dairy foods revolves around another type of “good fat” known as conjugated linoleic acid, or CLA. Like Omega 3 fats, grass fed dairy products tend to have higher levels of this “good fat”. Ongoing studies continue to document health benefits CLA, suggesting that CLA may be beneficial in combating arteriosclerosis (clogged arteries) and reducing the risk of cancer.

While CLA is present in all milk, studies have shown that CLA levels in grass-fed cattle are 30% to 40% higher than in grain-fed cattle.
