Grass Point Farms hosted a media and industry event to unveil grass fed and pasture raised farming ethics, environmental issues, health benefits and new standards in the production of grass fed and/or pasture raised food products.

The guest speakers included:

  • Brian Pillsbury, State Grazing Specialist with the United States Department of Agriculture, Natural Resources Conservation Service. Mr. Pilsbury has been the state grazing specialist since 1996. He oversees the technical aspects of grazing plan writing and implementation for the state’s grazing plan writers, insuring all plans meet environmental planning requirements.
  • Tera Johnson, Business Innovation Services for The Dairy Business Innovation Center, a not-for-profit organization developed as part of Wisconsin's Value Added Dairy Initiative. Dedicated to growing specialty and artisan cheese and dairy businesses, the center is led by a stakeholder board and uses a team roster of 20 world-class dairy consultants to work with DBIC clients. Ms. Johnson comes to the DBIC with a wide range of experience, including careers at Cardinal Stritch University and the UW Madison School of Business, where she worked with specialty cheese manufacturers across Wisconsin on marketing and business strategy projects. She is also the past VP of Marketing worldwide for Electronic Theatre Controls and past CEO of White Clover Dairy.
  • The Tomandl Family, owners and operator of Tomandl grazing farms since 1991.
